Maxillary Arch Implant Rehabilitation Using All on 6 Concept in a Diabetic Patient -A Case Report
A BSTRACT Implant-supported prosthesis in the completely edentulous maxillary arch with opposing natural teeth in the mandibular arch in a medically compromised patient with uncontrolled diabetes is extremely challenging. This case report explains the extraction of Grade III mobility in the maxillary arch and placement of immediate implants (Six in Numbers) in the canine, premolar, and molar regions along with periodontal regeneration in a poorly controlled diabetic patient. The absence of buccal cortical plates because of the extreme Grade III mobility for a longer time in the canine region was treated with bone graft (as a part of periodontal regeneration), and implants of sizes canine (4.1 mm × 12 mm), premolar (4.8 mm × 10 mm), and first molar (4.8 mm × 10 mm) regions were placed. After 6 months, radiographic investigations (orthopantomogram) were performed to assess the osseointegration of the implants. Results were satisfactory, and it proceeded with the prosthetic placement to make a successful implant-supported prosthesis. Meanwhile, medical care was given to the patient to maintain an HbA1c level of 6 throughout the procedure.
