ANALYSIS OF THE CLASSIFICATION OF BEACHES AS AN OBJECT OF MANAGEMENT

The paper considers the classification of beaches at the international and national levels. Russia has a system approved by the Ministry of Culture that divides beaches into three categories and is checked every two years. However, most beaches do not pass the official classification, preferring a spontaneous vacation. In parallel, there is the Blue Flag program, which promotes high standards on beaches, and local initiatives such as the Crimea Beach methodology. The author's approaches to classification and the importance of a regulatory framework for beach management are discussed. In conclusion, it is proposed to replace the voluntary classification with a mandatory one to improve the infrastructure and quality of recreation.
