Main Street as a revolutionary space in the cultural context and artistic reflection of the Russian poem in the First third of the XXth century
Featured article examines the "street text" of urban space as a reflection of the revolutionary events in Russia in the first third of the ХХth century. The theoretical and methodological basis of the study is based on the semiotic status of the street as a set of symbolic meanings. They create the communicative space of the street as a transmitter of urban culture and mass psychology. This makes the street a semantic territory that reflects the new state of the world – the revolutionary struggle of opposing forces. This is reflected in numerous works of art. As empirical material, the most significant examples of poetic epic are used, including an artistic reflection of the "topos" of the revolutionary street ("The Twelve" by A. Blok, "Main Street" by D. Bedny, "The Pied Piper" by M. Tsvetaeva). These works solve different ideological and artistic problems, but reveal typological similarity in the sphere of themes and experimental poetics. Some elements of this poetics (the leitmotif "procession", various types of montage) bring the poems closer to the artistic system of other arts. For example, the works of B. Kustodiev, K. Petrov-Vodkin, Y. Annenkov, P. Filonov embodied the pathos and tragedy of the revolutionary streets. A significant role in our characteristic of this topic belongs to the general cultural context. It is necessary to understand the general background of the era of Russian revolutions. The materials of the article can be used in the work of philologists, historians, and cultural scientists who want to use a comprehensive methodology in relation to the study of the historical and cultural process.
