Optimizing Automotive Parts through Circular Economy Indicators
Computational optimization methods help to achieve low mass and maintain structural integrity in automotive design. Including environmental impact requires quantification, yet the necessary analysis models and design variables for optimizing Circular Economy (CE) performance are unclear. Selecting CE indicators that align not only with the specific scenario, such as a wheel rim, but also with the relevant design variables is essential. This research aims to extend an optimization workflow by integrating suitable CE indicators that reflect both circularity and the product’s technological requirements, effectively linking optimization processes with life cycle assessment methods. This aims to identify high-circularity promising concepts.
