Effect of R strategies implementation on Additive Manufacturing design aspects
Scarcity of resources is one of the top challenges that the manufacturing sector is facing, when trying to meet the increased needs of the consumers. Circular economy could be the solution to this, with its different R strategies, and Additive Manufacturing (AM) could serve as an enabling technology. However, it is not yet clear how the different R strategies could affect the design phase of a product using AM. This work reviews the current literature, identifies how different circular strategies affect the design factors and proposes a framework that can be used to implement different R-strategies in AM.
