Waste Utilization and Valorization: AI-Driven Approaches for Creating Value from Food Byproducts in India

To address the global issues of starvation, hunger, and malnutrition, food waste must be minimized at all stages of the food chain. The indicated problems of food loss, starvation, and environmental concerns can be effectively solved by incorporating advanced methods like omics, enzymatic methods, and AI in food waste minimization and management successfully. AI can reshape our present agricultural and food chain industries and can solve the problems of depletion of resources, increase in population, pollution, climate change, and malnutrition. This paper involves an analysis of managing food waste and connecting it to omics techniques in detail. Additionally, it points out the uses of AI in minimizing and transforming food waste, its present status, and its future prospects. This assist decision-makers in getting to the right solutions that are sustainable in terms of the environment and the economy. This presents a comprehensive understanding of food waste management with the linkages to omics approaches in detail. This aims to explain how AI has been used in the reduction and transformation of food waste, the current issues, and future trends that exist. The purpose of this paper is to assist in achieving efficient and effective biorefinery decision-making for both sustainability and profitability.
