Examining Environmental Sustainability Using Artificial Intelligence- Natural Language Processing Based on the Perspectives of Generation Z: the Case of Clean Energy Transition Projects of Company X in a Developing Economy

Environmental sustainability is a growing concern among developing countries, resulting in a progressive transition from traditional high-carbon to eco-friendly business practices and waste and energy management. In this regard, the account of Filipinos' Generation <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$Z$</tex> views on clean energy transition is a crucial research gap needing investigation to understand attitudes, perceptions, and concerns. Thus, this study aims to fill this gap by examining the views of Generation <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\mathbf{Z}$</tex> based on an energy firm's transition to clean energy projects, through survey data, from a higher education institution in the National Capital Region, Philippines, analyzed using natural language processing (NLP), artificial intelligence (AI), and data visualization. Results show that Filipinos' Generation <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\mathbf{Z}$</tex> generally expressed neutral to positive views toward the clean energy transition, highlighting support for renewable and clean energy adoption, environmental benefits, and energy security. Structured topic clusters were renewable energy sources, climate change concerns, policy and regulations, economic impact of clean energy transition, and technological advancements.
