Coordinated Control of Distributed PV Inverters for Voltage Regulation in the High-PV Penetration Distribution Network Under Fault Events
In recent years, solar power has become one of the most popular sources of green energy due to its affordability and ease of installation. As the installation capacity of solar power systems on electric feeders continues to increase, solar energy poses significant challenges to the stability and safety of distribution networks. To overcome this predicament, a lot of PV inverter control applications have been developed. This paper mainly discusses the overvoltage issue caused by the integration of high-PV penetration in a distribution network; meanwhile, a coordinated control of distributed PV inverters is proposed for voltage regulation. To verify the performance of the control method proposed in this paper, simulation analyses are conducted on an islanded distribution network with a high-PV penetration installations under fault events.
