Series and Shunt Resistances Ratio Photovoltaic Model Compared with the PV Single Diode Model
A new photovoltaic (PV) model is provided that offers improved accuracy in the analysis of the performance of the PV system. It is based on the series and shunt resistance ratio PV (R2PV) model. In particular, the impact of internal resistances on current-voltage (I-V) characteristics and overall system efficiency is analyzed. The impedance-voltage (dynamic resistance) curve is examined using MATLAB simulations, which show how series and shunt resistances affect PV performance in different scenarios. The R2PV model is highly relevant for real- world scenarios that require exact energy estimation and system optimization because of its better precision in capturing resistive losses and dynamic reactions to temperature and irradiance variations, according to the results.
