Simple model for albedo measurement height determination
Albedo estimation is a key parameter to determine the performance of PV systems with bifacial technology. Effective albedo measurement relies on the measured irradiance by the rear side of the albedometer, which depends on the albedometer view factor, dependent of the sensor placement height and sensor area. This study presents a simple mathematical model to determine the minimum albedometer height in function of the albedo sensor area and the admissible relative error during albedo measurement. The proposed model is freely available as an open source code to determine minimum admissible height in function of specific albedometer area and admissible error for each specific application.
