Enhancing Voice Call Recording Data Safety Through Auto Backup in Integrated NAS with GSM Gateway via UC Server

Voice call recordings have become an integral part of business operations and regulatory compliance in modern Unified Communication (UC) platforms. Historically, local storage was the prescribed storage option for UC servers, which resulted in common challenges of server sizing issues, scalability limits and data loss when hardware failed. Even with scalable solutions in the form of Network Attached Storage (NAS) to popular open- source UC platforms, combined with integration setups between NASGSM Gateways, there are data safety concerns regarding NAS, local drive or network failures. To improve both data redundancy and fault tolerance, this paper introduces an auto- backup strategy based on Redundant Array of Independent Disks configurations and cloning to external drives while applying an automated failover mechanism ensures a smooth switch to local storage so that voice recording can continue unaffected, with further data automatically re-synchronized back up onto NAS. There is also a discussion about possible cloud integration in the future for even better offsite backup. The proposed method- ology guarantees shorter duration of downtime, phenomenal data approachability and better operational imperviousness to permit a robust method for backup voice call recordings in UC environment integrated with NAS.
