Texas Instruments and Altair Embed based educational solution for electrical machines and drives study
This article presents several educational solutions for low-power electric drives study based on the Texas Instruments LAUNCHXL-F28069M development platform -LaunchPAD and the Altair Embed graphical programming and test environment. The current setup can be used as a teaching solution for rapid control prototyping (RCP) and testing of different control strategies for electric drives based on real hardware and a digital programming platform. The real hardware can consist of both specialized power electronics stages (proprietary solutions from TI or customized open-source converter topologies that can be controlled without a dedicated gate driver) and low-power electrical machine models (brush DC machine, low-voltage induction machine and low-voltage permanent magnet synchronous machine).
