Case Study on Teaching Methods in Electronics and Telecommunications Undergraduate Studies
The teaching results are remarkably better if an assertive and humorous style accompanies the lessons topics. This paper presents an alternative teaching method to understand better signal modulation processes within the Signals and Systems discipline in Electronics and Telecommunication undergraduate studies. The experiment began in 2017 when analog modulation was taught based on dry mathematical analysis. After finding a poor understanding of the modulation phenomenon by students, comics were added to the topic, making an analogy with the movement of objects. The method gave much better results. Then, a humorous strategy was approached in the teaching style. The students' results highlighted that signal modulation is increasingly better understood. The evaluation was done both objectively and subjectively.
