Performance Evaluation of Power Line Communication Under Different Noise Environments

Broadband Power Line (BPL) communication has emerged as a promising solution for delivering high-speed internet over existing electrical infrastructure. However, one of the major challenges limiting its widespread adoption is the presence of noise, which can significantly degrade communication performance. The paper presents a comprehensive review of noise in BPL systems, focusing on its classification, sources, and impact on data transmission. Analyze various types of noise, including background noise, narrowband interference, impulsive noise, and electromagnetic disturbances from household and industrial devices. Furthermore, examine recent advancements in noise mitigation strategies, such as adaptive filtering, coding techniques, and innovative modulation schemes. By synthesizing findings from recent research, the research paper aims to provide engineers, researchers, and policymakers with a clear understanding of the current challenges and future directions in addressing noise issues in BPL networks.
