A Bibliometric Analysis of Visualizing Knowledge Mapping for Intelligent Tutoring Systems
With the advancement of technology and science, intelligent tutoring systems (ITSs) have been increasingly utilized in education. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct scientific and in-depth research on the application of ITSs in education. This study aims to explore the application and development trends of ITSs in the field of education. Approximately 1,207 relevant articles were selected from the Web of Science (WOS) database, and a visual analysis of these data was conducted using CiteSpace software. By analyzing the explosive growth of countries, institutions, publication volumes, and keywords, this study reveals the research hotspots and evolutionary trends of ITSs over the past decade and more. The results indicate that research hotspots in ITSs have shifted from basic theoretical explorations to practical application developments, and then to personalized learning support. Additionally, the study finds significant differences in research priorities and development trends of ITSs among different countries and regions. The findings of this study provide valuable references and insights for further research and application of ITSs in the field of education.
