Experimental Study of a Short-Pulse Prototype Megawatt-Power 230-GHz Gyrotron for the TRT Tokamak

This paper presents the results of an experimental study of a prototype gyrotron with an operating frequency of 230 GHz and an output power of up to 1 MW. The gyrotron is equipped with an improved mode converter to enable frequency locking by an external signal. The results of measurements of the power, frequency and profile of the output wave beam are presented.
