Accelerated stress tests and real world reliability equivalency of R&D and production perovskite silicon tandem cells at Oxford PV

This paper presents Oxford PV's progress in developing and validating accelerated stress testing methodologies for perovskite-silicon tandem solar cells. We demonstrate correlation between accelerated indoor testing and multi-year outdoor performance data across different scales, from R&D cells to 60-cell modules. Our findings show that combining continuous 1-sun illumination with elevated temperatures effectively compresses years of operational aging into week-long test cycles. This enables rapid reliability improvements while maintaining relevance to real-world conditions. Building on our record 26.9% efficient module and first utility-scale deployment, these testing protocols are crucial for establishing bankability and advancing perovskite photovoltaics toward widespread commercial adoption.
