Corrosion Resistance of Different Photovoltaic Technologies
Various combinations of solar cells and encapsulants have been evaluated for their susceptibility to corrosion in the Pressure Cooker Test (PCT) chamber, which accelerates the degradation process, thereby shortening the duration needed for screening the raw materials in solar panel manufacturing facilities. The results of the PCT corrosion test for different types of EVA, EPE and EP encapsulants on Mono PERC and TOPCon solar cells have been discussed. It has been found that some combinations of solar cells and encapsulants are more prone to corrosion compared to others, making it crucial to select the appropriate combination for optimal long-term performance.
