Realidad Aumentada como Estrategia Innovadora para Fomentar el Gusto por la Lectura en Alumnos de Primaria

The purpose of this research was to analyze the impact of augmented reality as a didactic strategy to foster reading motivation among elementary school students. The study involved third-grade students from two schools in Colima, Mexico, using a quasi-experimental design with a control and an experimental group. Both quantitative (Likert scale) and qualitative (observation and interviews) instruments were applied. Results showed a significant increase in reading motivation and interest, as well as in reading comprehension and class participation among the students who worked with augmented reality. The study concludes that augmented reality represents a pedagogical innovation with great potential for reading instruction in basic education.
