Research on gap measurement method based on 3D laser scanning technology
In response to the issues of insufficient accuracy and low efficiency in traditional gap measurement methods, a gap measurement technique based on 3D laser scanning technology is proposed. The composite skin and aluminum alloy framework in aircraft assembly are simplified to experimental panels. Three-dimensional point cloud data are collected using a handheld laser scanner. Data processing and model reconstruction are performed with Design X software, resulting in the creation of a high-precision 3D solid model. The gap measurement is then conducted using PolyWorks software. A comparison of the measurement results with theoretical models reveals an average measurement error of 0.140mm and an average relative error of 6.76%. The results demonstrate that the proposed method significantly improves the measurement accuracy and efficiency for gaps in complex structural components. This method has broad application potential and practical significance in digital assembly and quality control within the aerospace manufacturing industry.
