Multifunctional and Flexible Thin Bimetal Nano-Oxide@Carbon Textile for Electromagnetic Energy Conversion

Flexible and thin electromagnetic wave (EMW) absorption materials are urgently needed for the development of military stealth equipment and civil electromagnetic radiation. However, balancing multifunctional flexibility with promising reflection loss remains a challenge. Herein, a flower-like cobalt–nickel (CoNi) bimetal nano-oxide was introduced into a carbon textile-based substrate. The flexible CoNi bimetal oxide@textile (BMO@T4) with a 2.6 mm thickness delivered a porous conductive framework and abundant heterostructures, providing a maximum reflection loss of −56 dB at 8.28 GHz and a broad effective frequency of 4.92 GHz. This exceptional adsorption performance was achieved by matching the dielectric loss with multiple reflection routes. Furthermore, it demonstrated excellent durability and Joule heating capabilities and effectively blocked electromagnetic interference signals. This study provides an innovative approach to developing efficient, flexible EMW absorbers and electromagnetic energy converters, expanding the scope of multifunctional applications in future wearable protective devices.
