Metastatic Osteosarcoma: A Case Report of Secondary Pneumothorax and Intravascular Tumor Emboli
Osteosarcoma is a primary bone malignancy that disproportionately affects young patients and often metastasizes to the lungs. We report a case of osteosarcoma with metastatic disease in the lungs of a patient who presented with a spontaneous pneumothorax. We briefly discuss the mechanisms of secondary spontaneous pneumothorax, the mechanisms of pulmonary tumor emboli, and the diagnosis of calcified lung nodules in patients with osteosarcoma.
