This study examines Russian-Chinese cooperation in the field of renewable energy sources (RES) due to the growing global need for sustainable energy development. The main objective of the work is to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the prospects of Russian-Chinese cooperation in the field of RES in the territories of the Russian Far East and north-eastern provinces of China. The relevance of the chosen topic is due to the growing problems associated with the exhaustion of traditional energy sources, as well as the need to reduce the anthropogenic impact on the environment. The development of renewable energy sources is one of the key areas of technological and innovative progress, which determines the importance of conducting analysis in this area. The focus of attention is on the territories of the Russian Far East and the north-eastern provinces of China, which have a significant potential for the development of renewable energy. The authors conduct an analysis of renewable energy development strategies in Russia and China at the national and regional levels. Statistical data on the status and development of renewable energy sources in the regions under consideration are provided, and a comparative analysis of the potential of various renewable energy sources is carried out, considering geographical and climatic features. Methods of economic analysis and forecasting are used. The authors define the role and potential of renewable energy sources in regional development and consider the possibilities of strengthening Russian-Chinese cooperation in order to increase energy security and reduce dependence on traditional energy sources.
