Restoring Esthetics and Function—Managing Extensive Anterior Ridge Defects with the Andrew\'s Bridge System: A Case Report

In order to restore correct speech and appearance, managing large anterior ridge defects presents significant prosthodontic problems that necessitate both defect closure and replacement of missing teeth.Preoperative classification of these defects is essential for accurate diagnosis and anticipating potential complications. The Andrew's bridge system provides an effective solution for patients with compromised dentition and significant bone loss, offering improvements in phonetics, hygiene, esthetics, and function. This system is particularly advantageous for cases involving multiple missing maxillary and mandibular anterior teeth where fixed prostheses are unsuitable due to extensive edentulous spans or periodontal complications. The Andrew's bridge solves the problems of both functional restoration and esthetic rehabilitation by combining fixed and detachable components, particularly in patients with noticeable alveolar bone defects. This case report demonstrates the use of Andrew's bridge system to treat a patient with a significant ridge defect and missing anterior teeth who was categorized as Siebert's class III.This fixed-removable partial denture approach emphasizes the need for customized treatment plans tailored to the esthetic, functional, and psychological requirements of the patient. In conclusion, the Andrew's bridge system is a highly effective prosthetic solution for addressing large anterior ridge defects, providing superior esthetics, phonetics, and patient satisfaction, particularly when alternative treatments like implants or fixed partial dentures are not feasible.
