New State Records for Carabidae (Coleoptera: Adephaga), Inclusive of Cicindelidae, in Delaware, U.S.A.
The Carabidae (Coleoptera) is a large and diverse family of predatory and herbivorous beetles. Previously, 206 species (including Cicindelidae) were known to occur in Delaware. Eighteen new state records have been discovered in the University of Delaware Insect Research Collection, and one confirmation of a doubtful record. State records are listed along with the label data for each voucher specimen. This study increases our understanding of the biodiversity of Carabidae in Delaware and brings the total species count to 226.
