MILLER-CAPACITOR COMPENSATED THREE-STAGE COMPLEMENTARY METAL-OXIDE-SEMICONDUCTOR OPERATIONAL AMPLIFIER FOR ANALOG FRONT-END COMMUNICATION APPLICATIONS
This paper presents the design and analysis of a three-stage complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) operational amplifier optimized for analog front-end communication applications, with differential feedback. Frequency compensation is done using a single Miller capacitor based on the reverse nested frequency compensation. using only one capacitor along with the differential feedback path, which reduces the overall circuit complexity as compared to previous reverse nested Miller compensation; that is, methodology implemented in 90 nm CMOS technology. This method also presented stability due to the cancellation of the second dominant pole by zero. Simulations are done in 90 nm CMOS technology in Cadence Virtuoso. Simulation results show 113.5 dB of gain with 52.83 μW power consumption with 6.32 μV of noise, gain bandwidth product is 11.35, and unity gain frequency is 5.2 MHz. The compensation capacitor used for frequency compensation is 2.7 pF.
