MATRICES FUNCTIONS CALCULATION

This paper concerns of methods for providing of functions on matrices. Some theorems used in matrix calculus are given, the field of applicability is described and special cases are considered. Two widely used methods are applied:the construction of the Lagrange-Sylvester interpolation polynomial using a system of values on the spectrum of a matrix, and Jordan matrix form method. Both methods are applied to the problems. The advantages and losses of the methods are given.

Abstract

This paper concerns of methods for providing of functions on matrices. Some theorems used in matrix calculus are given, the field of applicability is described and special cases are considered. Two widely used methods are applied:the construction of the Lagrange-Sylvester interpolation polynomial using a system of values on the spectrum of a matrix, and Jordan matrix form method. Both methods are applied to the problems. The advantages and losses of the methods are given.
