Power grid frequency regulation control strategy based on SOC adaptive droop control of energy storage batteries

With the increasing proportion of new energy integration in the power grid, the participation of energy storage batteries in grid frequency control has become particularly crucial. After establishing SOC model, equivalent model, and frequency response model for a single chemical battery, this article analyzes the topology structure of the energy storage station and combines it with the battery cell model. In response to the frequency fluctuation problem caused by the high proportion of new energy connected to the power system, this paper adopts an adaptive droop control strategy based on the SOC of energy storage batteries. When energy storage participates in frequency regulation, the adjustment coefficient change process of energy storage stations is added according to the output of backup frequency regulation units and the SOC status of energy storage stations to cope with the situation where the SOC of energy storage stations is not in an ideal state during emergency frequency regulation, ultimately improving the frequency regulation capability of energy storage stations, enhancing the stability of the power grid during frequency regulation, and preventing frequency state deterioration. And by building a simulation model in MATLAB/Simulink, the correctness and effectiveness of the proposed strategy were verified.
