FINANCIAL WELL-BEING, HEALTH, AND QUALITY OF LIFE: EVIDENCE FROM INVESTORS IN THE BRAZILIAN CAPITAL MARKET
Studies addressing financial education and variables such as income, education, mental and physical health, life satisfaction and/or quality of life have been carried out lately, but there is a lack of research that addresses all these issues together. Therefore, this research aims to evaluate the relationship between financial well-being (FWB), mental and physical health and quality of life of individuals. For this, 1,546 Brazilian investors from the Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM) database were interviewed and, through a modeling with the use of structural equations, the following results were found: a) the level of FWB negatively affects mental health of individuals, and positively, quality of life and health, in all four dimensions; and b) income is the variable with the greatest influence on the FWB and, consequently, on the quality of life and health of Brazilian investors.
