ALGORITHM FOR CLOUD COVER DETECTION ON MOSAIC SATELLITE IMAGES WITH BRIGHTNESS EQUALIZATION
This paper presents an algorithm for detecting clouds in satellite images. The main problems associated with satellite image analysis, including uneven illumination and the impact of cloud cover, are described. A brightness correction algorithm based on concentric rings is proposed to eliminate illumination variations. The threshold-based binary segmentation approach is discussed, along with the principles for selecting the optimal threshold. The key stages of image processing are presented, as well as the mathematical descriptions and specific features of the proposed method. The advantages and limitations of this approach are outlined, along with suggestions for further improvement.
