AÇÕES DE ENGENHARIA DE PRODUTO PARA ELIMINAÇÃO DE RUÍDOS DE VIDRO EM RODAGEM
Noise and vibration control in automobiles is a determining factor in consumers' perception of quality and comfort. Among the various sources of noise during driving, those originating from the door system stand out due to their direct proximity to occupants, significantly influencing the cabin's acoustic experience. These noises can originate from various internal door mechanisms, including the lock, the movable windows, lifters, etc. OBJECTIVE: To identify the main root causes of window vibration noises during driving and propose technical solutions for automakers located in Brazil. RESULTS: Several vehicles of Brazilian’s automotive market have been tested, with different door designs. The Glass run Channels and window designs were evaluated, and the root causes of the rattling noises while driving have been defined. With regards to the window vibration rattling noises during driving, it occurs mainly with the windows 5 cm open, mainly in vehicles where the vertical profiles of the glass run channels do not sufficiently support the mass of such glass, allowing excessive vibrations to occur, generating noises as the glass slams against the vertical profiles.
