Effect of Treatment With Added Chenopodium Quinoa Low-Temperature Extract on Improvement of Damaged Hair

This study analyzed the effects of treatment with quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa willd) low-temperature extract on damaged (bleached) hair. And it aimed to verify the possibility as a material for developing effective natural hair cosmetics. The experiment applied treatment with quinoa low-temperature extract (0%:DH-C, 3%:DH-1, 5%:DH-2, 7%:DH-3, 10%:DH-4) to damaged hair. Afterwards, hair moisture content, hair gloss, hair (top) thickness using SEM, hair cuticle thickness using FE-SEM were measured, and hair composition elements were analyzed using EDS. As a result of the experiment, as the concentration of quinoa low-temperature extract increased, moisture content, hair gloss, hair (to)p thickness, hair cuticle thickness, and hair composition elements (sulfur) also increased, and the hair improvement effect was also high (DH-4 > DH-3 > DH-2 > DH-1 > DH-C). Therefore, the possibility as a material for developing effective natural hair cosmetics was verified. In the future, we hope that the development of more effective hair cosmetics will continue by applying them to various formulations.
