Health Disparities in Central Line-Associated Bloodstream Infections: Analysis of the U.S. National Inpatient Sample Database (2016–2022)
Racial and socioeconomic disparities persist in CLABSI incidence and healthcare resource utilization, with Blacks and Medicaid beneficiaries at the highest risk. Although CLABSI rates returned to pre-pandemic levels in 2022, associated costs and LOS remained elevated. Further research and targeted prevention strategies are needed to reduce health disparities and improve patient outcomes.
