Problems of timely diagnosis and treatment of multiple malformations of the gastrointestinal tract in the premature infant (esophageal and duodenal atresia, incomplete intestinal turn)

This article presents a clinical case of multiple malformations: esophageal atresia with lower tracheo-esophageal fistula and large diastasis, duodenal atresia and incomplete bowel turnover in a premature baby (gestational age 34 weeks, birth weight 1980 g). Surgical treatment of esophageal atresia (2nd day of life) and delayed surgical treatment of duodenal atresia with dissection of fetal adhesions (28th day of life) were performed. Passage through the gastrointestinal tract was fully restored 14 days after the second operation (42th day of life). The patient was discharged from the hospital on the 85th day after birth with recovery. Key words: esophageal atresia, duodenal atresia, incomplete bowel turn, prematurity, multiple malformations, anastomosis, thoracoscopy, laparoscopy
