Tensor interaction in coherent elastic neutrino-nucleus scattering
Neutrino tensor interactions have gained prominence in the study of coherent elastic neutrino-nucleus scattering (<a:math xmlns:a="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><a:mrow><a:mi>CE</a:mi><a:mi>ν</a:mi><a:mi>NS</a:mi></a:mrow></a:math>) recently. We perform a systematical examination of the nuclear effect, which plays a crucial role in evaluating the cross section of <c:math xmlns:c="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><c:mrow><c:mi>CE</c:mi><c:mi>ν</c:mi><c:mi>NS</c:mi></c:mrow></c:math> in the presence of tensor interactions. Our analysis reveals that the <e:math xmlns:e="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><e:mrow><e:mi>CE</e:mi><e:mi>ν</e:mi><e:mi>NS</e:mi></e:mrow></e:math> cross section induced by tensor interactions is not entirely nuclear spin suppressed and can be enhanced by a few orders of magnitude compared to the conventional studies. The neutrino magnetic moment induced by the loop effect of tensor interactions is also taken into account due to its sizable contribution to the <g:math xmlns:g="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><g:mrow><g:mi>CE</g:mi><g:mi>ν</g:mi><g:mi>NS</g:mi></g:mrow></g:math> cross section. We also employ data from the COHERENT experiment and recent observations of solar <i:math xmlns:i="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><i:mrow><i:mmultiscripts><i:mrow><i:mi mathvariant="normal">B</i:mi></i:mrow><i:mprescripts/><i:none/><i:mrow><i:mn>8</i:mn></i:mrow></i:mmultiscripts></i:mrow></i:math> neutrinos from dark matter direct detection experiments to scrutinize the parameter space of neutrino tensor interactions.
