MARSUPIALIZAÇÃO DE LESÃO PERIAPICAL CÍSTICA
Abstract Periapical cysts are the most common cystic lesions of the jaws, frequently associated with pulpal necrosis and characterized by epithelial-lined cavities filled with fluid or semi-fluid content. Although often asymptomatic, these lesions may reach considerable dimensions, leading to swelling, tooth displacement, root resorption, and involvement of critical anatomical structures, such as the maxillary sinus and the inferior alveolar nerve. Accurate diagnosis requires the integration of clinical, radiographic, and histopathological evaluation, with the latter being essential to differentiate radicular, dentigerous, and residual cysts, directly guiding therapeutic planning.
