Eye-Like MS RF Energy Harvester With Flexible and Highly Efficient
With the increasing demand for new energy and the miniaturization of electronic devices, radio frequency energy harvesting (RFEH) with high harvesting efficiency and flexible design has great application potential and development space. The existing RF energy harvester makes it difficult to achieve high efficiency and adapt to a variety of surfaces at the same time. Therefore, inspired by the structure and function of the eye, this study proposes a novel metasurface (MS) RF energy harvester with both flexibility and high efficiency to harvest RF energy stably when deformation or incident angle changes. Furthermore, this study uses laser etching (LE) technology to improve RF energy harvesting efficiency and analyzes the principle based on the skin effect. The results show that the simulated harvesting efficiency of the MS RF energy harvester near the potential 5.8 GHz is close to 90% through LE technology. The experimental results show that the MS RF energy harvester has high harvesting efficiency, good bending performance, and reliability. It has broad application prospects in wireless charging, IoT Sensors, space solar power station (SSPS), and flexible electronics (FE).
