Optimization of optical signal processing and transmission in optical communication systems based on all-optical switching

This study explores optimization strategies for all-optical switching-based communication systems, targeting enhanced signal integrity and transmission efficiency. A holistic framework combining dynamic power management, adaptive error correction, and intelligent wavelength assignment is proposed. Simulations and experiments validate a 32 Tbps capacity over 1,200 km ultra-low-loss fiber, with 2.8 dB Q-factor improvement and 35% BER reduction under fluctuating OSNR. Case studies in metro networks demonstrate 95% wavelength utilization via machine learning-driven resource allocation. The results highlight trade-offs between nonlinear compensation efficacy and computational overhead, underscoring the need for cost-effective hybrid solutions. This work provides critical insights for designing scalable, high-capacity optical networks.

Abstract

This study explores optimization strategies for all-optical switching-based communication systems, targeting enhanced signal integrity and transmission efficiency. A holistic framework combining dynamic power management, adaptive error correction, and intelligent wavelength assignment is proposed. Simulations and experiments validate a 32 Tbps capacity over 1,200 km ultra-low-loss fiber, with 2.8 dB Q-factor improvement and 35% BER reduction under fluctuating OSNR. Case studies in metro networks demonstrate 95% wavelength utilization via machine learning-driven resource allocation. The results highlight trade-offs between nonlinear compensation efficacy and computational overhead, underscoring the need for cost-effective hybrid solutions. This work provides critical insights for designing scalable, high-capacity optical networks.
