Condition of larval walleye pollock (Gadus chalcogrammus) in the southeastern Bering Sea in relation to their environment and size: Supplementary Figure 1

Supplementary Figure 1 Maps showing the values of covariates at each sampling station in the southeastern Bering Sea used to relate condition of larval walleye pollock (Gadus chalcogrammus), collected during 2007-2010 and 2018 in the southeastern Bering Sea, to larval size and environmental variability. The covariates are (A) natural log-transformed values of the prey concentration index (LnPrey), calculated as the number of adult female copepods (Pseudocalanus spp.) per cubic meter; (B) mean wind speed cubed, measured at Saint George Island Airport from April 10 to the day when larvae were sampled (WS3, an index for strength of mixing and storminess); (C) stratification of the water column (the absolute value of the difference in temperature between the sea surface and the deepest depth at which temperature was measured); (D) mean standard length (SL) of larvae; and (E) mean temperature between the sea surface and the depth of 40 m (the depth range where most larvae of walleye pollock are located in the Bering Sea; Smart et al., 2013).
