COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF THE PERFORMANCE OF VALID DATA PROCESSING IN THE SYSTEM

In this paper a comparative analysis of the performance of two approaches of valid data processing in the PC configurator system is carried out. The research is based on the comparison of component compatibility checking implemented on the database side (using triggers and stored procedures in MS SQL Server) and checking performed directly in the WinForms client application in C#. Methods of execution time measurement are given, peculiarities and trade-offs between data integrity and system performance are discussed. The results of the experiments show that validation in WinForms is much faster, but server validation plays a key role in guaranteeing data reliability, which makes it reasonable to use a hybrid approach.
