Salt Structures in Foreland Settings. South Oman Basin (seismic) versus Sivas Basin in Turkey (field)
Summary The aim of the talk is to compare two foreland salt basins and their subsequent tectonic evolution related to ongoing compression. The older one is the south Oman Basin related to the Angudan Orogeny (550–520 Ma) and the younger one, the Sivas Basin in Turkey related to the Arabia-Eurasia collision from Eocene to Miocene. Salt structures on seismic from Oman will be compred to field analogs in Turkey.
