Joint 3D Elastic FWI of OBS and DAS-VSP
Summary A critical component of CCS is the effective subsurface monitoring of CO2 storage sites to ensure their integrity and performance. The chosen monitoring methods should not only be robust and cost-efficient but potentially also flexible to utilize multiple data types. We have shown how we can effectively model and include DAS VSP and OBS data into a joint FWI inversion using accurate modelling of the different recorded data and using automatic gradient balancing to ensure a balanced update. Elastic modelling is essential to success and through direct modelling of strain data we can integrate the DAS and OBS datasets with minimal pre-processing required.
