Tondo Footbridge

The Tondo pedestrian bridge in Brussels connects the Chamber of Representatives with the Forum building, combining classical geometry with modern engineering. Its circular design ensures accessibility by smoothly bridging the 84 cm height difference over 15 meters. The load-bearing structure is integrated into the roof as a rigid steel box girder, while the floor is suspended by tension rods to maintain a sleek design. Reflective panels allow the bridge to blend into its surroundings, and curved glazing provides an open experience. The name "Tondo" refers to circular Renaissance artworks, symbolizing the harmony between form and function.
