Chronic kidney disease and microcirculation disorders

The literature review presents the data from the study of microvasculature in patients with chronic kidney disease in pre-dialysis period. Relevance of the topic is caused by an increasing number of patients with this pathology. Understanding the role of endothelium in chronic kidney disease will help to develop effective measures to improve kidney microvasculature. Objective. To analyze the data on kidney microvasculature assessment by laser analyzer of capillary blood flow in patients with established chronic kidney disease. Materials and methods. Literature search in eLibrary, National Library of Medicine PubMed.gov open sources was carried out. Full-text publications in Russian and English describing the state of microvasculature in patients with chronic kidney disease were selected. Results. We have identified 10 articles corresponding to the objective of our research as a results of publications reviewing. The differences in inclusion and exclusion criteria, features of intervention and outcomes’ development were considered. Conclusion. The role of endothelium is extremely important in studying the development and progression of chronic kidney disease as it’s dysfunction is one of the main causes of this disease occurrence. Correlation between stages of chronic kidney disease and microvasculature state has been identified.
