The Padre Anchieta: Improving Urban Mobility in Tenerife

<p>The Padre Anchieta footbridge in La Laguna is a unique solution to solve urban mobility problems in an area with high pedestrian and vehicular traffic. Designed through a competition promoted by the Cabildo de Tenerife, the winning proposal presented by FHECOR was a steel ring of 100 metres in diameter, which facilitates pedestrian traffic and minimises conflicts with vehicular traffic. The ring is completed with several accesses to improve pedestrian connectivity. The work, which is scheduled for completion in September 2025, faces technical challenges such as the assembly of large modules and coordination with existing traffic.</p>
