Digitalization in healthcare begins with automation of the doctor’s workplace.

Automation of the doctor’s workplace is a pre-digital stage, which involves the replacement of manual labor with automated systems. The transfer of mechanical operations performed by medical specialists into electronic form, using automated software and systems, is the initial level of the introduction of digital technologies, digitalization and subsequent digital transformation in medical organizations. The purpose of this study was to substantiate the need for automation of medical workers’ workplaces, as an initial stage of digitalization in healthcare using the example of the regional drug addiction service. Increasing the level of automation can be considered as a project of a management decision and a proposal to improve the drug situation in the region and the country as a whole. The formation of a single technological framework created in a medical organization allows for the expansion of the necessary activities for system management in an automated mode, which are iterated, optimized and improved during the implementation of current activity plans. Automation of workplaces is a powerful tool for increasing the efficiency, accuracy and reliability of work, as well as reducing routine tasks and costs. This circumstance makes it possible to optimize the work of employees and focus on more complex tasks of treating drug-addicted patients.
