Green building design and energy efficiency improvement in architectural engineering
With the increasingly serious problems of global climate change and resource shortages, green building design and energy efficiency improvement have become important research directions in architectural engineering. This study explores how to effectively combine green building design concepts in architectural engineering to improve energy efficiency significantly. Through in-depth analysis of green building cases at home and abroad, this study proposes various design strategies, including optimizing building layout, adopting high-efficiency thermal insulation materials, and utilizing renewable energy technologies. In order to verify the effectiveness of these strategies, this study selected an office building in a particular city as an experimental object and carried out green building renovation. The experimental results show that after the green building renovation, the energy consumption of the office building is reduced by 25 %, and the heating and cooling energy consumption is reduced by 30 % and 20 %, respectively. In addition, through the introduction of solar photovoltaic systems and rainwater harvesting systems, renewable energy utilization has reached 15 %, and water consumption has been reduced by 40 %. These data show that green building design has a significant effect on improving building energy efficiency. This study also analyzed the economic benefits and environmental impacts of different green building design strategies and found that although the initial investment is high, the long-term operating cost is low, and it can significantly reduce carbon emissions and environmental pollution. To sum up, this study confirms the feasibility and effectiveness of green building design and energy efficiency improvement. It provides a theoretical and practical basis for sustainable development in architectural engineering.
