ISOLATION OF SOME FUNGI AND SOME BACTERIA IN IMPORTED FROZEN CHICKEN MEAT SAMPLES OBTAINED FROM MARKETS OF BABYLON PROVINCE, IRAQ
A study was conducted on imported Frozen chicken meat in Babylon province, Iraq. The aim of study was to examine the major fungi and bacteria as food-borne pathogen from frozen imported meat chicken samples obtained from the different local markets in Babylon Province, Iraq.material and methods were included thirty imported samples collected from the frozen chicken and tested it for microbial contamination.Microorganisms were isolated by mechanical components, After crushing one gramme of each sample in a sterile mortar and pestle with 9 ml of distilled water, the samples were serially diluted and 0.1 ml of each was added to appropriate culture media. The mixture was then incubated at 37oC for 24 hours.Under the microscope, fungus and bacteria were identified and isolated.the use of biochemical tests with KOH and gramme stain. The results of this study was to isolate the bacteria present in the imported frozen meat chicken Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli in ten samples from total thirty (33%) while the fungi isolated the Aspergillus flavis and pencillium nordicum in total imported frozen meat chicken were 20 from 30 samples (66%) identify by KOH stain.the two medications, Gentamicin, Erythromycin, Tazobactam and ampicillin were tested for antibacterial susceptibility.A few microbes were discovered to be antibiotic resistant.
