THE PROBLEM OF ANONYMITY IN WEB 2.0: BETWEEN PRIVACY AND RESPONSIBILITY
The increasing role of user-generated content and the development of Web 2.0 have intensified the issue of anonymity on the Internet. Previously, the ability to conceal personal data made the web a liberal and open space, but today it leads to both freedom of expression and risks such as disinformation, cyberbullying, and decreased trust in online sources. The study is based on an analysis of user-generated content in social networks and online forums, as well as a comparative analysis of authored and anonymous publications. The article examines mechanisms for regulating anonymity, social control, and ways to balance user privacy with content accountability. It is found that measures are being taken to mitigate the negative consequences of anonymity; however, its complete elimination is impossible, as it may infringe on users’ rights to privacy and freedom of expression.
