Harnessing substituent and aggregation-induced effects for color-tunable emission in borafluorenium ions

A series of hexaphenylcarbodiphosphorane-stabilized borafluorenium ions were synthesized with various substituents and counteranions. These compounds exhibit stimuli-responsive behavior, including aggregation-induced emission and thermochromism.
